was born in Nuuk 1990 and grew up in Nanortalik, a small town in Southern Greenland. She studied social science at Nuuk University and psychology at Aarhus University, Denmark. She has been an active member of the young literary scene in Greenland, co-arranging Poetry Slams and literary debates. Niviaq published her first novel HOMO sapienne (2014, milik publishing), and also rewrote it in Danish. Her novel about young persons in their quest for a true identity, regardless of sexual gender, was highly praised in the media and was since then nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Award and for the Politiken Literature Award.
